Dining Plans

Your Guide to WVU Dining Plans

WVU Hospitality Group offers three types of dining plans: plans for students living in WVU residence halls (residential plans), plans for students not living in WVU residence halls (non-residential plans), and plans for full-time faculty and staff. Students living in WVU residence halls are required to purchase either a Go 10, Go 13, or Go Anytime plan.

Student dining plans can be purchased at mymountaineercard.wvu.edu. Faculty and dining plans can be requested via our form.

Each dining plan includes a specific number of meal swipes and/or Dining Dollars, which are loaded onto WVU ID cards for use. Mountie Bounty is a separate, optional form of campus currency that is also loaded onto ID cards, offering additional flexibility. All payment balances can be checked at mymountaineercard.wvu.edu.

Meal Swipes

  • Residential dining plan meal swipes (Go 10, Go 13 and Go Anytime) can be used at Café Evansdale, Hatfields and Summit Café.
  • Go 10 and Go 13 meal swipes can also be used at Performance Eatery.
  • As a flexible bonus, students with a residential dining plan can use two of their existing meal swipes per week to purchase any item or combo meal at retail locations.
  • Non-residential dining plan meal swipes can be used at any dining location.
  • Faculty and staff meal swipes can be used at Café Evansdale, Hatfields and Summit Café.
  • Weekly meal swipe balances (for applicable plans) reset every Saturday morning and do not roll over.

Dining Dollars

  • Dining Dollars are non-taxable funds that can be used instead of meal swipes at all dining locations.
  • Dining Dollars roll over to the spring semester with the purchase of a spring dining plan, but they will expire at the end of each academic year.
  • Additional Dining Dollars can be added throughout the semester by contacting WVU Hospitality Group.

Mountie Bounty

  • Mountie Bounty is a pre-paid amount loaded onto WVU ID cards that can be used to make purchases at both on-campus and off-campus locations.
  • Students, faculty, and staff can add funds anytime at mymountaineercard.wvu.edu, and parents or guests can add funds on their student’s behalf, too.
  • Balances roll over each semester, and students can request a refund upon graduation.
  • A full list of participating Mountie Bounty locations is available at go.wvu.edu/mountie-bounty.

Dining Hall Door Prices

If you are paying for your meal with cash or card, prices (including tax) are as follows:

  • Breakfast: $11.79
  • Lunch: $13.00
  • Dinner: $15.69

Dining halls accept meal swipes, Dining Dollars, Mountie Bounty, credit cards, debit cards and cash.

Dining Plan Withdrawal Policy

If a student officially withdraws from the University (drops all classes) and completes the required forms and procedures, the unused portion of their dining plan fees will be refunded in accordance with University guidelines. The “unused portion” will be determined based on the date the student stops using the dining plan.

If the student has an outstanding balance for tuition, fees, or other charges, any refundable portion of the dining plan fees will first be applied to that balance.

Dining plan fees are refundable according to the following schedule:

  1. On or after October 15: No refund for fall term charges, no assessment of spring term charges.
  2. On or after March 7: No refund for spring term charges.

This policy applies to all students who purchase a dining plan, including both on-campus and off-campus students.
